As “post” means “after”, then post Judgment are any matters pursued or which come up “after” a final Judgment is entered in a case. Every initial dissolution or paternity action must have a Judgment entered to finalize the case.
Post Judgment matters can also be a modification of a court Order issued after the final Judgment is entered.
Post judgment matters are usually requested modifications of any of the Court’s orders that are specifically set forth in a party's Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage or Judgment Re Paternity (or other Judgment), or in an Order filed following the entry of the Judgment.
Should a party not abide by the orders set forth in their Judgment, then the Judgment may need to be enforced by the other party which is also deemed a post judgment matter
